Buck-a-Book Community Campaign for Literacy - Readings in Schools

Readings held in all Carlisle Elementary schools by community volunteers and literacy students!  Thank you to all the readers, coordinators and librarians who made these readings an integral part of the children's participation in the campaign.  Supplemented with the video and everyone's participation the message of the importance of literacy for all was conveyed.

Job Responsibilities:

"Provides direct patient care for all assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.

"Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team members.

"Provides psychological support to patients, friends and families.

 

Experience/Requirements:

"Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail when performing basic care tasks.

"Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients and their families and maintain effective contacts with a variety of people.

 

Education:

"State Certification indicating successful completion of Nursing Assistant course. In lieu of a certificate one year previous on the job experience or completion of one clinical semester in nursing is required. High School diploma or equivalent.

"Current CPR/BLS provider card.

 

 

 

Patient Care Assistant - 8 W (0.6 FTE) Day/Evening  / Location   Camp Hill, PA  / Work Status   Part Time

"Sets up instruments and scrubs for Cesarean Sections.

" Makes regular rounds and administers nursing care to assigned patients

 

Experience / Requirements:

"Successful completion of orientation program for OB Scrub Technician. Graduate of accredited School of Surgical Technician and Surgical Technician Certification preferred.

"Certification indicating successful completion of nursing assistant course. In lieu of a certificate one year on the job experience or completion of one semester of clinical nursing is required

 

Education:

"Ability to read, write, understand and follow basic patient care and to perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level normally acquired by completion of high school education or equivalent.

"Current CPR provider card.

Schedule: Full-time, evening shift.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Community Aid Clothing Collection Bins

Community_Aid_binWe now have three Community Aid Clothing Collection Bins located in the Carlisle Area.  These collection bins will accept your donations of gently used clothing, shoes and accessories.  The Employment Skills Center receives a monetary donation based upon the amount of clothing donated.

Our bins can be found at the following locations:

408 Baltimore Avenue, Mt. Holly PA
405 N. East Street, Carlisle, PA
Midway Storage and Car Wash, 1545 Holly Pike

We are a Faith Based Non-Profit 501(C) (3) Charity with the primary purpose of raising funds for distribution to local schools, churches, synagogues, temples and non-profit charitable organizations.

We aspire to serve our community by creating good paying jobs which provide onsite training and coaching for our neighbors.  We desire to improve the quality of life for the individuals and families in our community by providing clothing and cash grants through our partner churches, and by offering items for resale at affordable prices that meet the needs of our economically challenged neighbors.

As of October 15, 2010, Community Aid has given $92,000 in cash grants to Partners, and over $26,000 in clothing to neighbors in need.
