“Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef” Returns
EmploymentSkillsCenter Major Fund Raiser is November 16
CARLISLE, Pa. –The Employment Skills Center announced today that the 5th annual Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef fund-raiser will take place on Sunday, November 16 from 2-6 pm at the spacious LetortViewCommunity Center, Carlisle Barracks. The ticket cost remains $50 per person, which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, door prizes and entertainment. Alicia Richards, Co-anchor of WHTM-TV Channel 27 News, returns as this year’s celebrity emcee.CarlisleRegionalMedicalCenter is the exclusive sponsor of the event.
This fund raiser is based on the popular TV show where several chefs are pitted against each other to come up with their version of some tasty delight. For Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef, chefs from local restaurants and eateries go head-to-head to see who’s the best in the kitchen. A local twist to the event is that Carlisle Area School District Culinary Arts students participate as assistants to the chefs.
The EmploymentSkillsCenter, a Carlisle-based organization has been helping people improve their work skills, their work ethic and subsequently their quality of life, for almost 40 years in the Central Pennsylvania area.
Dale Cross, the Center’s Executive Director commented, “We are delighted to host the popular Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef again this year. It’s been a huge success, not only as a fund-raiser, but as an enjoyable Sunday afternoon activity for the greater Carlisle community. In addition to the culinary competition, our volunteers have secured many nice items that will be placed in a silent auction and several larger, more expensive items for a live auction. We already have commitments from several local merchants for auction items.
And if that isn’t enough we’ll have music provided by the Dave Winter Group for our guests listening pleasure.
Join 230 people who will enjoy an afternoon of top competitive cooking, exciting valuable silent and live auctions, and enjoyable entertainment at Carlisle's Own Iron Chef" !
